Play Therapy

Play Therapy

Children don’t always have the words to express what they feel, but they do have creativity.
Through art, play, and gentle activities, children can communicate their emotions, make sense of their experiences, and begin to heal in ways that feel natural and safe.

As a qualified psychotherapist and teacher, I use play and creativity to help children explore feelings such as sadness, anger, or worry, without pressure or expectation.

Sessions focus on helping children feel calm, confident, and understood, supporting both their emotional wellbeing and their everyday relationships.

How Play Therapy Helps

  • Builds emotional awareness and expression

  • Supports children through loss, change, and trauma

  • Reduces anxiety, fear, and frustration

  • Promotes confidence, creativity, and resilience

  • Encourages relaxation and stress-free communication

  • Helps children feel seen, safe, and supported

My Approach

I create a calm, welcoming space where children can express themselves through:

  • Art and crafts

  • Drawing and painting

  • Games and creative storytelling

  • Mindfulness and breathwork

  • Stress-free sensory activities

Each session is tailored to the child’s needs, allowing them to lead at their own pace. The focus is on connection helping them rediscover joy, confidence, and trust in themselves.

Parent Coaching

Parents often know something feels “off” before a child can say it. My Parent Coaching sessions create a safe, reflective space for parents and caregivers to explore their child’s emotional needs and develop gentle strategies for support at home.

Together, we look at:

  • Understanding emotional triggers and behaviours

  • Supporting children through anxiety or school-related stress

  • Setting boundaries with warmth and consistency

  • Strengthening family communication and trust

  • Nurturing connection during challenging times

Parent Coaching can be offered alongside Play Therapy or as standalone sessions.
It’s not about perfection; it’s about building understanding, patience, and presence.

For Families

When children feel safe enough to express themselves, and parents feel supported in listening, powerful change happens.
I work collaboratively with families to restore calm, confidence, and connection in the home.
